I’ve spent the last few days observing people to try to understand why they do what they do and how they do it.Understanding your ‘why’ is, in my opinion, the most important thing you can do in your life.

Why do you teach children? Why do you read books? Why do you feed, clothe and nurture your family? Why do you work? Why do you write and/or tell stories?

For me, storytelling and writing are about the bigger picture. They are about passing on knowledge and teaching current and future generations about values and love. Why do I do it?, I hear you ask. The answer is simple!

I want to make a difference in this world.

I know that I won’t physically be around forever, but through my books, my stories and poems will live on. Through them, future generations might learn these values and apply them to their world and might also have a little insight into who I am as a person.

I write to make a difference.

What is your ‘why?’
